Portfolio » Firvale Community Forum

Fir Vale Community Forum was set up by local people and councillors in 2002 to help improve the neighbourhood of Fir Vale in Sheffield. The Forum was made up of local people, organisations and businesses who worked together to promote the area as a whole. Fir Vale Community Forum was a locally lead organisation managed by a committee of residents who developed projects to benefit the local community.

The Forum worked to:

  1. Raise the aspirations, living conditions and health of local residents.
  2. Ensure the community's priorities for regeneration are made clear.
  3. Raise the profile of Fir Vale.
  4. Represent the interests of everyone in the Fir Vale community.
  5. Be an active force in bringing in investment and improvements for the community and area as a whole.

In June 2005, the Fir Vale Community Forum newsletter was launched and was published bi-monthly until December 2006, when funding for the forum came to an end.
